Russia may break through the front lines across the bottom of the Kakhovka Reservoir

Russian troops may attempt to use the dried-up bed of the Kakhovka Reservoir to advance north toward Zaporizhzhia. 

The ISW notes that in the fall and winter, dense vegetation, high humidity, and fog could facilitate this, as they make reconnaissance and territorial control more difficult.

According to Dmytro Filatov, commander of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment, the Russians have already used this area for infiltration. However, this primarily involves the movement of small infantry groups, rather than a large-scale mechanized offensive.

Ukrainian military analyst Kostyantyn Mashovets reported that about a week ago, a Russian infantry group was able to use a dried-up reservoir to infiltrate Malokaterynivka.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces damaged five workshops at a military plant in Russia.

On the night of September 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key facilities on Russian territory that support the Russian military machine. Among them were the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant in the Rostov Region and the “Ilsky” oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai.
