Russia has intensified its attacks on ports and ships in the Ukrainian maritime corridor
Russian forces have intensified their shelling of Ukrainian ports and ships traveling through the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
According to the USPA, the enemy has been attacking port infrastructure daily for nearly a week.
In particular, on April 16, port facilities in the Greater Odesa area came under fire—hits, fires, and damage to infrastructure were recorded. On the same day, a drone struck a merchant ship flying the Nauru flag that was heading to the port—the crew extinguished the fire.
On April 15, Russia attacked port infrastructure on the Danube, damaging warehouses and administrative buildings. On April 14, strikes were recorded in Izmail—port facilities and a vessel flying the Panamanian flag were damaged.
Also on April 14, a drone struck a civilian vessel heading to the port of Greater Odesa to load corn—a fire broke out, which the crew was able to quickly extinguish.
In the preceding days—April 10, 8, and 2—Russian attacks also caused damage to port infrastructure in the Odesa region and civilian vessels.
Despite regular shelling, Ukrainian ports continue to operate, ensuring logistics while adhering to security restrictions.
Starting in the evening of April 14, Russian occupiers launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using 3 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 324 drones of various types. Air defense forces neutralized most of the targets, though some hits were recorded.
In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers discovered the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K missile. A controlled destruction of the munition is planned at the site.
On the night of April 15, three people were injured in Dnipro and the surrounding region as a result of Russian drone strikes, and damage to civilian infrastructure was reported.
