Russia has launched a new wave of propaganda ahead of the State Duma elections — Center for Political Analysis

Russia, through its Foreign Intelligence Service, has launched a new propaganda campaign to create the illusion of legitimacy for the September “elections” to the State Duma. A statement from the SVR claims that the EU, PACE, and Western intelligence agencies are allegedly planning destabilization efforts, cyberattacks, and provocations, as well as enlisting the Russian opposition to discredit the vote.

In reality, this is a blatant manipulation and a distortion of facts. With such statements about fabricated threats, Russia is attempting to divert attention from the illegality of the vote in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the absence of any democratic procedures.

Furthermore, the “besieged fortress” rhetoric is intended for a domestic audience in the Russian Federation. It allows the Kremlin to brand any criticism of the “elections” as “collaboration with foreign intelligence services.”

It is important to understand that the real reason the civilized world does not recognize these “elections” is not a “Brussels conspiracy,” as Russian propaganda tries to portray it, but Russia’s direct violation of the UN Charter and international law through its intention to hold a vote in occupied territory.

Earlier, the Center explained why Putin is terrorizing Kyiv and the surrounding region.

Earlier, Russia attacked a facility in Novhorod-Siverskyi.

As a reminder, a massive attack on the Kyiv region has left one person dead and eight wounded.

Russia also launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv overnight, resulting in fatalities.
