The National Guard has received its first Protector robotic systems
Four units of the Ukrainian National Guard have received the first 10 Protector robotic logistics systems. In total, with financial support from the German government, 100 such vehicles have been contracted for the National Guard and will be used on the front lines.
The robotic system is primarily designed for logistics and evacuation missions in combat zones. It can transport ammunition, food, fuel and lubricants, engineering equipment, and other cargo.
According to its manufacturer, “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles,” which announced the start of mass deliveries of the vehicle, the unmanned “Protector” can be used to evacuate the wounded. The main advantage of this solution is the ability to perform dangerous logistical tasks without the direct involvement of military personnel.
The “Protector” is capable of carrying up to 1,480 kg of cargo. This is one of the highest figures among modern robotic logistics systems.
Another important feature of the vehicle is its ability to tow a trailer weighing up to 4 metric tons. Thus, the system can transport a significant volume of cargo in a single trip, which is particularly relevant for artillery units.
“Our logistics RVC has already proven itself in military units under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Based on positive feedback from the military and recognizing the need to keep personnel on the front lines safe, our partners have contracted for 100 of our systems for the National Guard of Ukraine,” said Vladislav Belbas, the company’s CEO.
According to him, the automation of logistics allows important tasks to be carried out without unnecessary risk to personnel.

The “Protector” is already in use by the Ukrainian military. Specifically, one of the systems is operating with a separate artillery brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and will be deployed in the Dobropillia sector.
Military personnel note the vehicle’s maneuverability even in difficult terrain, as well as its power, speed, and payload capacity.
“The system has already proven itself in our brigade. I especially want to highlight its responsiveness and smooth handling in less-than-ideal conditions. Its power, speed, and load capacity speak for themselves,” said Sergeant Yevhen Kochergin of the National Guard of Ukraine’s separate artillery brigade.
As the National Guard member explained, one of the key tasks for artillery crews is transporting heavy ammunition, and this is precisely where a robotic vehicle can significantly reduce risks to military personnel.
The delivery of 100 “Protector” units to the National Guard is another step in the development of ground-based robotic systems within the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Such vehicles allow some logistical tasks to be shifted from personnel to machinery and enable the delivery of cargo to locations where the use of conventional transport or the direct presence of military personnel poses an increased risk.
