Russia has recruited about 93,000 contract soldiers in three months
In the second quarter of 2026, Russia signed approximately 93,000 new military service contracts.
According to economist Janis Kluge’s estimate, this corresponds to an average rate of about 1,000 new conscripts per day.
According to his analysis, despite a prolonged decline in recruitment rates, the Kremlin has so far managed to maintain a stable intake thanks to record-high monetary payments. The average regional signing bonus has risen to 1.65 million rubles, and the number of regions offering such payments has nearly doubled.
At the same time, according to data from Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, the current recruitment rate remains insufficient to meet Russia’s plans and falls short of projected targets.
