Russia has about 50 Kinzhal missiles in stock following the halt in their production

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, as of July, Russia had about 50 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles. According to intelligence reports, production of these missiles was suspended in April 2026.

The GUR’s verbatim response to a request from UP: “In addition, as of July 2026, the Russian Federation possesses approximately 50 ‘Kinzhal’ aerobalistic missiles and approximately 50 North Korean ballistic missiles of the KN-23 series (+KN-24 and KN-30).”

Details: The article states that Russia is currently focused on producing more precise types of ballistic and cruise missiles. The rocket fuel, funds, and components previously used for the “Kinzhal” missiles have been redirected toward this effort.

The Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed that this is indeed helping Russia increase the number of ballistic missiles in the “Iskander-M” complex.

The GUR’s verbatim response to UP’s inquiry: “The reorientation of production resources toward missile systems allows Russia to maintain the necessary production rates and ensure the regular use of missiles against Ukraine.”

At the same time, the GUR noted that the suspension of serial production of the “Kinzhal” does not indicate that the missile has lost its combat capability. “The ‘Kinzhal’ missile is currently undergoing further development due, in particular, to issues with target accuracy,” the Main Intelligence Directorate stated.

Kyiv and Brovary were the main targets of the Russian Federation’s attack.

Russia’s war against Ukraine is taking on the characteristics of a total war — The Kyiv Independent.

Earlier, Ukraine formalized the long-range “Dovbush T40” UAV.

As a reminder, the Russian oil refinery “Orsknefteorgsintez” halted oil refining operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones on August 11.
