Russians attacked 30 settlements in the Sumy region; one person was killed
Over the course of July 22, Russian troops carried out 92 strikes on 30 settlements in the Sumy region. As a result of the enemy attacks, one person was killed and seven other residents were wounded.
This was reported by the communications department of the Sumy Oblast Police.
The enemy used guided aerial bombs, mortars, artillery, and various types of UAVs.
“Russian troops attacked Sumy using strike drones. Over the course of the day, there were several strikes in the Zarechny and Kovpakivsky districts. As a result, a man (age to be determined) was injured, and a 61-year-old man was also injured. Three gas stations, a non-residential building, and critical infrastructure facilities were damaged,” the statement said.
In the Seredino-Budsk community, a 57-year-old man was killed as a result of mortar shelling. In the Bilopil community, a 53-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were injured as a result of a drone strike. Four retail kiosks, four private residential homes, one apartment building, and a power line were damaged.
In the Bereziv community, a 62-year-old woman was injured when a drone struck a farm building. In the Velykopysariv community, a 44-year-old man was injured in a drone attack. In the Sadivska community, a 51-year-old man sought medical attention after a drone strike.
Police investigative teams and bomb disposal experts worked at the sites of the strikes.
Law enforcement officers documented the consequences of the attacks, searched the areas for explosive devices, and collected evidence of war crimes. Police investigators have opened criminal cases under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes) regarding all these incidents.
