Russians are preparing for a new offensive near Kupiansk — ISW

Russians are preparing for a new offensive near Kupiansk — ISW

The situation on the front lines remains fluid: in some areas, the occupiers have exhausted their resources, while in others they are stepping up their assaults, taking advantage of the weather conditions.

This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy has nearly exhausted its forces and suspended active operations, waiting for dense foliage to appear so it can resume its offensive.

The occupiers are increasingly using light vehicles—motorcycles, ATVs, and off-road vehicles—for attacks by small groups.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces are making gains: despite Russian claims of “capturing” certain settlements, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are advancing.

After failed assaults, the enemy has reverted to small-group tactics and will likely attempt to bypass Ukrainian positions from the south.

Meanwhile, near Pokrovsk, the Russians have intensified their attacks, using fog and rain to hinder Ukrainian reconnaissance.

There, the enemy is using smoke screens and attempting to advance in mechanized columns.

As a reminder, on March 28, a series of explosions occurred at industrial facilities in Russia—an explosives factory was damaged in the Samara region, and an oil refinery was attacked in Yaroslavl.

Russian oil exporters have warned buyers of a possible declaration of force majeure regarding shipments through major Baltic Sea ports.

We previously reported that two Russian ports suspended operations following a drone attack.
