Russians are preparing to intensify their offensive in the south this summer — Voloshin

Russian troops are rotating their offensive forces in southern Ukraine, which may indicate an intention to step up combat operations during the summer.

This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, in a comment to Ukrinform.

According to him, the occupiers are currently rotating units, particularly in the Huliaipole sector. This involves the offensive group of the Russian Federation’s 5th Army, which includes the 57th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, the 60th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, and the 55th Marine Division.

Voloshin noted that these units will operate in the area throughout June 2026 and have already received new combat missions.

According to the spokesperson, the Russian command has set them objectives related to advancing deeper into Ukrainian defenses and capturing specific lines.

“All of this indicates that enemy activity will continue this summer. And judging by the fact that new units and new formations are now being deployed, this activity will intensify,” Voloshin emphasized.
