Russia plans to transport military cargo across the Kerch Bridge due to logistical issues
Russia may be forced to use the Kerch Bridge to transport military equipment and fuel due to depleted supplies and problems with alternative logistics routes.
This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy.
According to him, there are currently significant restrictions on the transport of dangerous goods across the Kerch Bridge, particularly regarding fuel and lubricants and rail transport.
Pletenchuk believes that as the shortage of resources grows, the occupiers may be forced to use the bridge to transport such cargo despite the existing risks and restrictions.
He also noted that the rail ferries previously used for transport between Russia and occupied Crimea are currently not operating due to damage or destruction. At the same time, regular ferries are unable to handle the necessary volume of traffic.
Separately, the Navy spokesperson emphasized the strategic importance of the Crimea–Rostov route, which is used not only to supply the occupied peninsula but also to deliver Russian troops to the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
