Russians took cover under beach chairs to escape a drone attack near Gelendzhik

In the resort village of Arkhipo-Osipovka in the Krasnodar Krai, Russian air defense forces shot down a drone right onto the beach where vacationers were relaxing, and no one even thought to sound the air raid siren

According to tourists and local residents, the air raid sirens in the village did not go off, and no one was warned of the threat. People were forced to take cover behind coastal cliffs and shield themselves with beach chairs after hearing a barrage of small-arms fire immediately before the explosion. The downing of the drone over civilian infrastructure caused panic among vacationers, most of whom—particularly the wealthier ones—began to urgently leave the resort.

Despite the casualties and destruction, the authorities of the Krasnodar Region reported that “UAV debris” had fallen and did not declare a state of emergency. After a brief inspection of the coastline, local hotels and beaches resumed normal operations.
