On the morning of August 3, a Russian “Shahed”-type attack drone struck a civilian tugboat. A fire broke out on the vessel after it was hit.
Sailors from the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service of Ukraine quickly arrived to assist the crew. Ships and boats from the Maritime Guard were deployed to deal with the aftermath of the attack, and units from the State Emergency Service later joined in extinguishing the fire.
The fire was successfully extinguished. According to preliminary reports, none of the crew members were killed or injured.
Russian forces carried out yet another strike onacivilian vessel flying the Liberian flag, which was anchored in the Black Sea. At the time of the attack, there was no crew or cargo on board.
