Since the beginning of the year, Russia has damaged nearly a hundred gas stations in the Kharkiv region
Since the beginning of 2026, Russian troops have carried out 150 strikes on gas stations in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the attacks, 97 gas stations were damaged or completely destroyed.
This was reported by Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. According to him, despite regular shelling, there is no fuel shortage in the region—emergency services are fully supplied with gasoline and diesel fuel.
Regional authorities are working with gas station owners to strengthen the protection of these facilities. They have also submitted a proposal to the government to grant gas stations the status of critical infrastructure, which would allow for the implementation of mandatory protection measures.

Ukraine plans to ensure the protection of all gas stations against Russian airstrikes. According to Serhiy Sukhomlyn, head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Recovery and Development, testing of the project will begin in the near future in frontline regions.
On August 3, during a Russian drone strike on a gas station in the Shyroke community in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Kherson rescue worker Eduard Razlog and his 8-year-old son Maksym were killed. At the time of the attack, the man was on vacation.
