The Russians dropped an aerial bomb on Sumy State University
On the evening of September 20, Russian troops struck the Sumy State University campus with a guided aerial bomb. The attack damaged the facades, windows, and doors of the university’s main building and adjacent structures; no one was injured.
The university is currently working to clean up the aftermath of the strike, assess the damage to property, and gather support for reconstruction. This is not the first attack by the Russian Federation on the university: it was hit by an airstrike in September 2023 and by missile strikes in April and August 2025, losing 60,000 books as a result of the shelling.

On the night of September 19–20, 2026, a Russian missile and drone attack destroyed the “Ventilation Systems” plant in Boyarka.
Russia also struck Lozova, damaging the train station and causing one fatality.
