A satellite captured the aftermath of the strike on a Russian drone base in the Oryol Region
On the night of September 21, Ukrainian drones struck bunkers and hangars at the “Tsimbulovo” drone port in the Oryol Region of the Russian Federation, which serves as Russia’s main launch base for jet-powered UAVs "Geran" drones against Ukraine.
According to satellite images from the OSINT channel Absolutely Reliable, the attack caused some drones to penetrate the bunkers, and a series of hits resulting in explosions, damage to hangars, and the destruction of drones directly on the launch preparation pad were recorded. According to available data, the strike may have been carried out using jet-powered UAVs and “Neptune” missiles.
The drone port near the village of Tsymbulovo is designed for the storage and launch of strike drones. Its construction began in August 2024, and as of 2026, the complex had been significantly expanded with new launch pads, storage facilities, and infrastructure, specifically for the “Geran-4” and “Geran-5” models.

As a reminder, the SBU and the Armed Forces struck an aircraft plant in Yevpatoria, the port of Taman, and the Volgograd Oil Refinery.
Drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine struck four Russian radar stations in the Krasnodar Krai. Three oil refineries in Ufa, located approximately 1,600 km from the Ukrainian border, were also targeted.
