Russians struck a residential neighborhood in Zaporizhzhia; a woman was wounded
This afternoon, April 19, 2026, Russian occupation forces launched another attack on a residential area in Zaporizhzhia.
As a result of the enemy strike in one of the city’s districts, a civilian woman was injured, and civilian infrastructure sustained significant damage.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, confirmed the attack and provided initial information about the victims.
According to him, the aggressor once again targeted an area where there are no military facilities, only private homes belonging to Zaporizhzhia residents.
“A 52-year-old woman was injured as a result of the enemy attack. Medical personnel are currently providing all necessary assistance,” the head of the Regional Military Administration reported on his official Telegram channel.
The victim’s condition is assessed as moderate; she is under the supervision of specialists.
The attack occurred in broad daylight, while residents of the neighborhood were at home or going about their daily chores.
The blast wave and debris caused fires in the residential area, which were quickly extinguished by State Emergency Service units.
In addition to residential buildings, outbuildings and nearby parked cars were damaged.
The city’s municipal services have already begun work to address the aftermath of the shelling, including repairing broken windows and clearing the surrounding area.
