Syrsky held a meeting with the commanders of unmanned systems units

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a large-scale working meeting with the commanders of unmanned aerial vehicle units.

The key topic of the meeting was reducing the bureaucratic process from the emergence of a new idea on the front lines to its full-scale implementation across the entire army.

The event was attended by representatives from over 100 military units and command structures directly responsible for drone operations.

Syrskyi emphasized that initiatives from junior officers—from lieutenants to majors—are the driving force behind Ukraine’s technological advantage.

“An effective initiative by a lieutenant, captain, major, or colonel makes it possible to minimize the path from the emergence of an innovative solution in a unit to its scaling across the entire Armed Forces. From identifying a problem to solving it,” the Commander-in-Chief emphasized in his Facebook post.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the latest developments and tactics for using Middle Strike-type drones.

Commanders also discussed the initial results of the recently formed UAV battalions within territorial defense brigades, which are already demonstrating high effectiveness on the front lines.

Oleksandr Syrskyi noted successes in several critical areas: from reconnaissance aircraft to FPV drones and ground-based robotic platforms.

Special mention was made of the use of fiber-optic drones, which are immune to enemy electronic warfare systems.

“Reconnaissance and strike UAVs of fixed-wing and multirotor types, FPV drones, radio-controlled and fiber-optic drones, UAV interceptors, and ground-based robotic systems—we have much to be proud of in all these areas,” the general added, noting that there is still much work ahead regarding the regulatory framework and procurement.

The head of the military identified priority tasks regarding financial support for R&D workshops where unique technical solutions are developed.

He requires the command to compile all frontline “life hacks” and disseminate them to personnel as quickly as possible so that the enemy does not have time to adapt.

Syrskyi emphasized that a global competition with the aggressor is currently underway across three parameters: technology, troop strength, and economic power.

In his view, strengthening unmanned capabilities is the only path to victory, allowing for the minimization of personnel losses.

“We have no other choice but to strengthen the power and effectiveness of our unmanned systems to win this conflict while preserving the lives of our soldiers,” the Commander-in-Chief concluded.

He also thanked the soldiers for their professionalism and constant search for new methods to defeat the occupiers.
