The Russians struck a historic estate in the Zaporizhzhia region
As a result of yet another shelling, Russian occupation forces completely destroyed a unique architectural and historical landmark—the Myklashevsky estate in the village of Bilenke, Zaporizhzhia District.
The building, which belonged to a member of a prominent Ukrainian Cossack-officer family, suffered catastrophic damage.
This cultural heritage site was considered unique to the entire region due to its high level of preservation prior to the start of large-scale enemy attacks.
The monument had weathered many historical upheavals over more than a century and a half of its existence, but it could not withstand the recent assaults by the Russian army.
Until its destruction, a local educational institution had also been successfully operating on the premises of the former estate.
“The estate of Mykhailo Myklashevsky—a descendant of an ancient Ukrainian Cossack-officer family—was not merely an architectural and historical landmark. It was the only estate in the Zaporizhzhia region that was so well-preserved. It survived numerous historical upheavals over more than a century and a half of its existence and had already sustained damage on multiple occasions during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. “Today, we have likely lost it forever,” emphasized Hanna Golovko in her statement.
This was officially reported by Hanna Golovko, a spokesperson for the Khortytsia National Reserve, on her Facebook page.
