Russian occupiers are attempting to advance in the Pokrovsk direction — General Staff
Since the start of the day on May 2, Russian invaders have carried out 51 attacks. Putin’s forces are shelling border areas in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions.
This is stated in a new report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Situation by sector
- In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, the enemy carried out 62 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions. One enemy assault was recorded.
- In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attempted four times to improve its position in the areas of Lyman, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Okhrimivka. One of these attempts is ongoing.
- In the Lyman sector, the enemy carried out three assault operations toward Drobysheve.
- In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy carried out one assault toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
- In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers launched two attacks toward Malynivka and Bondarne.
- In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out nine attacks toward the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka. One of these attempts to advance is still ongoing.
- In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the occupiers have attempted 18 times to dislodge our troops from their positions toward the settlements of Bilytske, Novoye Shakhovoye, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Muravka, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka. One of these attacks is still ongoing.
- In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched two attacks toward the settlements of Oleksandrohrad and Zlagoda.
- In the Huliaipole sector, eight attacks were launched toward the positions of our defenders in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Sviatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, and Charivne.
- In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy launched a single attack toward Stepnogorsk and carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Omelnyk, Orikhiv, Yurkivka, Tavriiske, and Komyshuvakha.
- In the Dnipro direction, the enemy carried out two assault operations in the Antonivka area.
As a reminder, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of a Russian tactical group, a unit, and a UAV command post.
Russian troops advanced near Riznykivka in the Donetsk region. Analysts at DeepState reported the change in the situation after updating the map of hostilities.
Over the course of May 1, Russian troops carried out 857 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Dozens of settlements came under fire. In the Zaporizhzhia district, three people were wounded, and there is damage to housing and infrastructure.
