Russian suicide bombers attacked a university in Kyiv during class

Russian drones struck a university in Kyiv, where 160 students were taking shelter during the attack. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the strikes also damaged facilities in Odesa, Kherson, and the Kharkiv region.

“Today, Russian ‘suicide drones’ struck one of the universities in Kyiv—right in the middle of classes. Fortunately, the students were in a shelter—160 students,” Zelenskyy wrote on social media.

He added that the effects of the Russian attack were also reported in at least three other regions of Ukraine.

In Odesa, a residential building and city infrastructure were damaged as a result of an overnight strike. Five people were injured, including a child.

In Kherson, Russian troops struck a rescue and police building. In the Kharkiv region, thousands of people were left without power due to the strike, and there are also reports of injuries.

Zelenskyy noted that air raid alerts remain in effect in many regions of Ukraine due to the threat of jet-powered drones and aerial bombs.

Zelenskyy called on partners to increase pressure on Russia

The President of Ukraine stated that the international response to this latest wave of Russian strikes has been insufficient.

“Unfortunately, the response from the world and the most influential leaders to this latest Russian escalation of attacks has been insufficient. When Russian-Iranian ‘Shaheds’ are waging such round-the-clock terror in Europe, this cannot remain a problem for our country alone,” the head of state emphasized.

According to Zelenskyy, every attack on Ukrainian cities and villages is, in fact, Russia testing tactics it could use against other countries.

The president called on partners to take concrete steps to strengthen support for Ukraine—in particular, to provide additional air defense capabilities, tighten sanctions against Russia, and boost defense production.

“We must act now. Evil must be stopped the moment it rears its head,” Zelenskyy stressed.

On the morning of September 2, Russian troops continued their attack on Ukraine with strike drones. Explosions were heard in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, where air defense forces are operating.

On the night of September 1, Russia launched a massive strike against Ukraine using missiles and more than 170 drones. Air defense forces repelled the attack, during which the enemy used, among other things, “Iskander” and “Banderole” missiles.

Russian troops attacked one of the industrial facilities in the Poltava district. Rescue workers were on the scene following the enemy strike.
