Russian terrorist forces have disabled one of DTEK's thermal power plants

On Tuesday, August 18, Russian terrorist forces launched a massive attack on one of DTEK’s thermal power plants. As a result of the attack, the plant ceased operations.

 

“Russia launched a massive shelling attack on one of DTEK’s thermal power plants. The plant has stopped generating electricity. The equipment has been significantly damaged,” the statement said. 

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK’s thermal power plants have been attacked by the enemy more than 230 times. During the most recent attack on June 12, an employee of the company, Oleksandr Kosolapov, was killed.

This was reported in a DTEK statement on Telegram.

As a reminder, on August 18, 2026, jet-powered drones were spotted for the first time in western Ukraine. They traveled approximately 900 km from their launch site.
