The Russian fleet has relocated to Novorossiysk and is only making brief sorties to sea

For some time now, Russian military vessels have not been stationed in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas; instead, they are based in Novorossiysk and only go out to sea for limited periods.

This was reported by Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk during a television broadcast.

“The enemy has not maintained any ships for quite some time; they are currently stationed at their base in Novorossiysk,” he noted.

According to Pletenchuk, this situation reflects a change in the Russian Navy’s tactics. The ships go out into the open sea for only a few hours, after which they return to their base. This demonstrates an avoidance of prolonged stays at sea and limited use of the fleet.

As a reminder, on the night of March 25, Ukrainian defense forces struck an occupier’s ship at the Vyborg Shipyard.

Russia reported one of the largest nighttime drone attacks in recent times. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces allegedly shot down 389 Ukrainian drones in various regions of the country overnight.

As a reminder, Russia is attempting to escalate its drone attacks on Ukraine. So far, it has not been able to maintain this pace consistently. However, these actions may indicate preparations for a protracted war and new large-scale strikes.
