A Russian military blogger told Putin about abuses in the Russian Armed Forces
Alexander Lunin, a Russian soldier from the Voronezh region who took part in the invasion of Ukraine and maintains a blog on Instagram and other social media platforms, recorded a public appeal to Vladimir Putin.
The video quickly went viral on social media—garnering over 3.5 million views and more than 125,000 likes in four hours.
In his message, Lunin claims that representatives of Russian government agencies, including the Ministry of Defense and law enforcement agencies, allegedly met with him the day before.
“Right now, dozens, hundreds, thousands of our soldiers are sitting in dungeons… punished by their commanders. They are sitting there, rotting away, subjected to torture and violence… for refusing to carry out senseless, suicidal orders,” Lunin stated.
He also added that, according to him, soldiers are allegedly “erased” from the records and disappear without a trace.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich, please pay attention to this—invite me to meet with you,” he said.
In the video, the blogger also issued ultimatums, claiming that if he is not invited to the Kremlin and allowed to speak live on air, it could have “serious consequences.”
“The consequences will be very serious… the army will turn its weapons against the Kremlin,” Lunin declared.
At the same time, he emphasized that he is not a “leader of the uprising” and stated that he is willing to share details only with Putin in person.
The Russian army is losing at least 30,000 soldiers each month in the war against Ukraine, either killed or seriously wounded. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format. According to the head of state, these losses could become even greater if Ukraine continues to strengthen its defense capabilities.
