The number of companies that have joined the private civil air defense initiative has been disclosed
As of April, 24 companies are participating in the project to establish a private air defense system.
This was reported on Friday, May 1, by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
These are enterprises of various ownership structures from different regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Poltava, Zakarpattia, and others.
The Ministry of Defense notes that private air defense is not an independent, uncontrolled unit, but rather a component of the country’s air defense system under the command of the Air Command of the Ukrainian Air Force.
Private air defense groups consist of civilian personnel who have undergone training, hold the necessary certificates and clearances, and meet specific requirements.
The ministry also clarified that individuals who, in accordance with the Law “On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization,” are not subject to conscription into the Ukrainian Armed Forces join the private air defense groups. Accordingly, they do not receive deferments for participating in the group. These may also include representatives of paramilitary security forces, if such units exist at enterprises.
As a reminder, the air defense forces destroyed 388 drones during a massive attack.
On the night of May 1, Russian troops carried out an attack on port infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region. The Izmail district came under fire.
In addition, Mykolaiv was again attacked by Russian drones. Homes in the residential sector were damaged, and a fire broke out. An air raid alert remains in effect in the city, and residents are urged to stay in shelters.
In Dnipro, a bus was destroyed and a residential building, a store, and cars were damaged as a result of the strike. There is also damage in Zaporizhzhia.
