Intelligence helped expose an occupier suspected of sexual assault

Law enforcement officials, with the assistance of analysts from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, have identified a Russian servicemember suspected of committing sexual assault against a female resident of the Mykolaiv region during the Russian occupation.

According to the investigation, the crime took place in the temporarily occupied territory of the Mykolaiv region. The evidence obtained served as the basis for further legal proceedings to bring the suspect to justice.

According to the investigation, in late October 2022, a 26-year-old Russian serviceman, Abdurashid Ilyasovich Bakhmudov, used psychological pressure to sexually assault a local woman.

The Main Intelligence Directorate is publishing the personal details of the Russian war criminal:

Abdurashid Ilyasovich Bakhmudov, born January 20, 1996 — a native of the village of Zubantchi in the Republic of Dagestan, a citizen of the Russian Federation. Registered and residing at: Russian Federation, Republic of Dagestan, village of Levashi, 1 M. Omarov St. Additional address: Russian Federation, Stavropol Krai, city of Neftekumsk, 3rd Microdistrict, Building 4, Apartment 100.

At the time of the crime, Bakhmudov was serving as a platoon commander in the deep reconnaissance unit of Military Unit 74814, part of the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 49thth Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces. His military rank is sergeant. His call sign is “Abdula.”

Law enforcement officers in the Mykolaiv region also identified a 42-year-old serviceman from the same unit of the Russian occupation army. According to the investigation, he illegally broke into the garage of the victim’s husband and stole his car; some time later, in November 2022, he also raped the woman.

The actions of the Russian military personnel constitute a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Both suspects have been charged with cruel treatment of the civilian population, which constitutes a violation of the laws and customs of war.

This was reported on the GUR website.

More than 50 Ukrainian defenders were killed during the terrorist attack in Olenivka, and another 130 were wounded, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate.

As a reminder, July 28 is observed in Ukraine as the Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine, members of volunteer units, and civilians who were executed, tortured, or died in captivity during the Russian-Ukrainian war. This day is dedicated to those who survived captivity but were unable to return home, and it serves as a reminder of the crimes committed against Ukrainian military personnel and civilians.
