A journalist for the pro-Kremlin channel Tsargrad was punished for criticizing the governor
Staff members of the “E” Center filed an administrative report against journalist Vadim Afanasyev under the provision regarding abuse of freedom of the press (Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The reason for this was his post about the activities of Vyacheslav Fedoryshchev, the governor of the Samara Region.
According to the report, law enforcement officials viewed the publication as containing “inaccurate information of public significance” and a threat to public safety. Afanasyev himself speculates that the publication regarding the reshuffling of the local Duma may have been the trigger.
In May 2026, on the second anniversary of Fedoryshchev’s appointment, the journalist expressed complete disappointment in the regional leader, emphasizing that he had not fulfilled a single promise and that the current course of the authorities was only worsening the socio-demographic situation in the region.
