The SBU has exposed a Russian agent who was directing strikes on Sloviansk
The SBU’s counterintelligence unit has exposed a woman who was gathering information on Ukrainian military personnel and passing it on to Russian intelligence agencies via various communication channels. According to the investigation, she coordinated Russian missile and drone strikes on Sloviansk and surrounding areas, using her son—a militant—as a liaison.
This was reported by the SBU press center.
"As the investigation established, the spotter turned out to be a local unemployed woman recruited by the enemy. To recruit the woman, Russian intelligence officers enlisted her son—a member of armed groups in the Southern Military District of the aggressor country, who is fighting on the eastern front," the statement said.
The enemy planned to use the obtained coordinates to launch strikes with kamikaze drones, guided bombs, and missile weapons.
Data transmission via a network of informants and Telegram channels
To gather information, the suspect, under the guise of casual conversation, extracted details from acquaintances regarding the movements and locations of Ukrainian units in the Donetsk region. She subsequently established an additional communication channel through a former resident of Sloviansk, who is currently in Russia and administers a pro-Russian Telegram channel.
Through this channel, the agent transmitted voice messages containing information about the positions and movement routes of the Defense Forces in the Kramatorsk area.
The SBU documented her activities, after which she was detained and her phone—used to collect and transmit intelligence—was seized.
The woman has been notified of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law. She is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing to identify all members of the Russian intelligence network.
