SBU detains Russian agent directing airstrikes on Sloviansk
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained another Russian agent in Donetsk region. After being recruited, she was tasked with collecting geolocations of Ukrainian Defense Forces personnel and equipment and passing these coordinates to Russia for guided bomb strikes on Sloviansk.
According to the SBU press center, the suspect is an unemployed resident of Sloviansk. She came under enemy attention through pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
“After recruitment, the agent was instructed to collect geolocations of sites where personnel and equipment of the Defense Forces were stationed. To do this, she visited a local store daily, looking for a ‘chance’ meeting with soldiers to discreetly ask about their base locations,” the SBU reported.
On her way home, the collaborator conducted reconnaissance near facilities she believed were used by Ukrainian defenders. After these scouting trips, the agent marked potential “targets” on Google Maps to compile reports for Russia.
SBU officers detained the suspect at her residence. During searches, they seized a smartphone containing evidence of her work for the enemy.
Investigators charged her under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed during martial law). She remains in custody without the right to bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The SBU also detained a Russian agent who planned to blow up a military training center in Donetsk region.
In Kyiv, a serviceman was charged for detonating a grenade in Obolon.
A German court did not recognize the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage as an act of Ukrainian self-defense.
The Supreme Court of Italy approved the extradition of 49-year-old Ukrainian Serhiy Kuznetsov to Germany, where he is suspected of involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. Ukraine will continue to provide full support to Kuznetsov, who is linked to the Nord Stream sabotage case.
