Sibiga supported Tokayev's call on Putin to stop the war
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga supported the calls by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Vladimir Putin, the leader of the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—to stop the war against Ukraine. The foreign minister wrote about this on social media.
“We appreciate President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s appeals to Putin that it is time to stop the war. This is a realistic, timely, and wise appeal,” Sibiga stated.
According to him, Ukraine has proposed halting the war along the current front line and moving toward diplomacy. At the same time, the Kremlin, as the minister noted, continues to reject this path to peace.

Sibiga also stated that Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, has already rejected the Kazakh president’s proposal. “The bottom line is this: Moscow must feel greater pressure before it agrees to realistic proposals for peace,” the foreign minister wrote.
Earlier, during a meeting with Putin in Omsk, Tokayev proposed freezing the Russian-Ukrainian war, returning to the Istanbul formula for a settlement, and moving toward peace. Peskov responded by stating that “a freeze is impossible.”
