Ukraine and the U.S. Will Propose an Air Cease-Fire to Russia – Reuters
According to Reuters, Ukrainian and U.S. officials discussed an initiative to halt mutual airstrikes, which is planned to be proposed to the Russian side as part of a new round of peace talks.
The proposal is based on the assumption that systematic strikes by Ukrainian drones and missiles against Russian military and economic targets have put significant pressure on the Russian economy, which could force the Kremlin to reconsider its previous refusal to agree to such a ceasefire.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called these reports premature to comment on, as Moscow is currently relying solely on media reports, but suggested that Russia’s future decisions will depend on whether the proposed terms align with its own interests.
