Since their inception, unmanned aerial systems have struck Russian targets worth $40 billion
In the year since the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), Russian targets of various levels have been struck, resulting in nearly $40 billion in damage.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy while commenting on the decree establishing June 11 as Unmanned Systems Forces Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In just one year since the formation of the UAS, Russian targets of various levels worth nearly $40 billion have already been destroyed. Most importantly, these are different types of strikes, and each one gives us the ability to save lives,” he said.
According to Zelenskyy, from now on, June 11 will be a day of respect and gratitude for the Unmanned Systems Forces.
“For the first time in the world, it is in Ukraine that we have created such a branch of the military; we are developing the UAS to the fullest extent, and it is Ukrainians who have proven that thanks to our technological prowess, creativity, and courage, we can change the course of the war —we can achieve goals that were previously either completely out of reach for conventional weapons or extremely difficult to achieve and required a massive expenditure of resources,” the President noted.
He emphasized that these days, the Unmanned Systems Forces are particularly grateful for their mid-range strikes: Russian military logistics throughout the depth of the temporarily occupied territory are now within reach of Ukrainian drones.
