The Defense Forces have officially confirmed the strike on the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia
On the night of May 20–21, fighters from the Special Operations Forces (SOF) and Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a precision strike on the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara Region of the Russian Federation.
The successful attack sparked a massive fire on the grounds of the strategic facility.
The press services of both military departments officially confirmed the joint special operation.
The facility targeted by the military belongs to the Russian state-owned company Rosneft and is located more than 800 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
The plant’s production capacity is approximately 9 million tons of oil per year. In addition to meeting the region’s civilian needs, the plant directly finances and supplies fuel to the Russian military aviation.
Petroleum products from this facility are also delivered to military units in central and southern Russia. In addition, a significant portion of the fuel produced is exported via logistics routes through the Volga River and the Caspian Sea.
Operators from the 1st Separate Special Operations Center and the 413th SBS “Raid” Regiment participated in the operation to strike the oil giant.

On the night of May 20, a series of explosions rocked the Stavropol Krai in Russia, followed by reports of damage to the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant. The plant is one of the largest producers of ammonia and ammonium nitrate in Russia. Information regarding the extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack is being clarified.
