Ukrainian defense forces struck oil refineries, warehouses, and command centers in Russia

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have carried out a series of strikes against key targets of the Russian occupation forces, including a second strike on an oil refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

Specifically, the AVT-6 primary oil refining unit at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodorgsintez facility near the city of Kstovo was hit. A fire broke out there following the strike.

The Ukrainian military also struck the “Yaroslavl-3” oil pumping station in the village of Semibratovo in the Yaroslavl region of the Russian Federation. According to preliminary data, four tanks with a total capacity of 140,000 m³ were damaged. The facility, as noted, is used in the oil transportation system and supports the Russian Federation’s military infrastructure.

In addition, the Defense Forces struck a number of other targets:

▪️ command posts in the Soledar area (Donetsk Oblast);
▪️ the Lyubymivka (Kherson Oblast) and Ivanivskyi (Donetsk Oblast) areas;
▪️ drone control centers in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kursk Oblasts of the Russian Federation.

Concentrations of personnel in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, an ammunition depot in the Marinivka area (Zaporizhzhia region), and a repair unit in Sievierodonetsk (Luhansk region) were also targeted.

The General Staff emphasized that the Defense Forces are continuing systematic actions aimed at weakening the Russian Federation’s military capabilities.

In Russia, following the drone attack, fires broke out at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, and on the grounds of the Azot chemical plant in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai.

On the night of May 20, a series of explosions rocked the Stavropol Krai in Russia, followed by reports of damage to the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant. The plant is one of the largest producers of ammonia and ammonium nitrate in Russia. Details regarding the extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack are still being clarified.
