Air defense forces shot down 46 of 58 Russian drones overnight
On the night of July 20–21, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 58 drones of various types. Air defense forces destroyed or intercepted 46 aerial targets, though some hits were also recorded.
According to military sources, the Russian Armed Forces deployed Shahed-type strike UAVs, including rocket-powered variants, “Gerbera” drones, “Italmas,” “Banderol” loitering munitions, and “Parody”-type decoy drones.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
As of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 46 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, eight strike drones were confirmed to have struck seven locations. The Air Force emphasized that the air attack is ongoing and that enemy UAVs remain in Ukrainian airspace, urging citizens not to ignore air raid alerts and to follow safety guidelines.

As a reminder, over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have killed 1,370 Russian soldiers. Updated data on Russian military losses as of July 21 was released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kherson region, 22 people were injured over the past day as a result of Russian attacks.
Russia carried out over a thousand strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.
Russian forces attacked an administrative building in Chernihiv; one person was wounded.
