Syrsky Relocated the Airborne Forces Brigade from Donetsk Oblast to Volyn — UP

That summer, the then-Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, ordered the command of the 7th Airborne Corps to be relocated from the Dobropillia area in Donetsk Oblast to Volyn. According to Ukrainska Pravda, the corps was to prepare for a possible offensive from Belarus, but this decision was later reversed by Mykhailo Drapatiy.

Syrskyi’s successor, Mykhailo Drapatiy, reversed this decision and sent the corps command to Zaporizhzhia amid an intensifying Russian offensive near Huliaipole.

According to a Ukrainska Pravda source in the 7th Corps, the command spent no more than two weeks in Volyn, after which it was returned to Zaporizhzhia to reinforce the “South” military group. The publication reports that the corps was pleased with this development, “because, objectively speaking, there was nothing for them to do in Volyn.”

As a reminder, Drapatiy has begun a personnel review of officers in the General Staff.

In addition, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy recently rescinded more than 30 General Staff orders that were no longer relevant.

Drapatiy discussed issues and the reform of the corps with sergeants on the front lines.
