Law enforcement agencies are being asked to investigate the situation regarding Shabunin's dismissal
Representatives of the veterans’ movement have appealed to the State Bureau of Investigations, requesting an investigation into the legality of the grounds on which activist Vitaliy Shabunin was discharged from military service. They are also asking for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his current status and any possible violations, if they occurred. Separately, they are calling for a legal assessment of the situation by law enforcement agencies.
The “Honest Mobilization” movement, according to its representative, Oleksiy Stalker, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, has appealed to the State Bureau of Investigations to verify the legality of the grounds for discharging activist Vitaliy Shabunin from military service and to provide a legal assessment of the situation.
The appeal, according to representatives of the movement, also includes a request to determine whether Shabunin had the right to drive a car after his reported health issues, and, if violations are found, to open a criminal investigation. “The ‘Honest Mobilization’ movement appeals to the State Bureau of Investigations with the following request: to verify the legality of the grounds on which Shabunin was discharged from military service and to provide the public with an answer as to whether his discharge complies with the law,” the statement released by a representative of the movement reads.
According to Oleksiy Stalker, as cited by the movement, concerns have been raised regarding the activist’s health condition and his subsequent actions, particularly the purchase of a car after his discharge from service. “If any violations of the law are found, appropriate proceedings must be initiated, as this affects public trust in the mobilization and military service system,” he noted.
The statement also expresses the view that such cases require investigation by law enforcement agencies, as they may influence public attitudes toward military service and mobilization processes. It is separately noted that, according to preliminary reports from the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), an investigation is ongoing regarding Vitaliy Shabunin as part of criminal proceedings concerning possible violations during his military service. The final conclusions in the case are to be determined by the investigation and the court. This was stated by a representative of the movement, Oleksiy Stalker, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
On June 26, Ukrainian drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine struck two Russian military vessels and an S-400 air defense missile system in the Kerch Strait area. The vessels “Volga,” “Vyatka,” and the ferry “Petropavlovsk,” as well as air defense systems in the Kerch Strait area, came under attack.
Pilots from the 3rd Special Operations Brigade “Spartan,” named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan, of the Ukrainian National Guard destroyed two Russian S-300 air defense systems.
As a reminder, Ukrainian drone operators are using heavy munitions to strike Russian troop positions and are forcing the occupiers to leave their cover. Military personnel described the specifics of drone operations on the front lines and tactics for engaging the enemy.
