Putin's administration is demanding explanations from the U.S. following Trump's sharp shift in stance toward Ukraine

The authorities of the Russian Federation have publicly demanded that the White House clearly define its position on the war against Ukraine.

Official Moscow has expressed sharp dissatisfaction with Washington’s statements that no specific agreements or commitments were reached during last year’s summit in Anchorage, Alaska, between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov actively set out to refute recent remarks by U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio.

The day before, the U.S. Secretary of State had publicly stated that the leaders of the two countries had failed to reach any joint agreements during the summit at the military base in Anchorage.

The Russian side viewed this statement as an attempt to downplay the previous discussions.

The Russian minister openly criticized his counterpart in Washington for a lack of political flexibility.

Sergey Lavrov began to assert that during the official talks in Alaska, the parties had examined the U.S. delegation’s initiatives in detail, and the Kremlin leader had fully endorsed them.

“It’s not very tactful of Rubio to say that no agreement was reached in Anchorage,” Lavrov rebuked his American counterpart.
