For the second time this week, the SBU struck the Saki airfield and the Hvardiyiske base in Crimea

The Security Service of Ukraine reported on a new special operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea, during which drones struck the “Saki” and “Gvardeyskoye” military airfields. The operation took place as part of a 40-day campaign to reduce Russia’s military capabilities, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously announced.

According to the SBU, the “Saki” airfield was attacked for the second time this week.

It is reported that at the “Saki” airfield, drones struck seven hangars where aircraft were stored, including Su-30SM and Su-30 fighter jets and Su-24 front-line bombers.

According to preliminary information, at least seven Russian aircraft were destroyed or damaged.

In addition, two hangars at the “Gvardeyskoye” military airfield were struck; they housed “Shahed” attack drones and aviation equipment.

The SBU emphasized that “Saki” and “Gvardeyskoye” are among the key military airfields of the Russian occupation forces in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

It is from these bases that tactical aircraft regularly take off to launch missile and air strikes against Ukraine, as well as to support the operations of Russian troops in the southern sector.

SBU Director Yevhen Khmara stated that the Ukrainian security service will continue to systematically strike at Russia’s military infrastructure.

“The SBU continues to carry out the tasks set by the President of Ukraine and systematically reduce Russia’s military potential. Each of our special operations means a reduction in enemy aviation, logistics, warehouses, equipment, and infrastructure that support Russian aggression. We will continue to exert maximum pressure on the enemy both on the front lines and deep in the rear, depriving it of the ability to wage war against Ukraine,” he emphasized.

This was reported by the SBU press service

In addition, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, following a nighttime attack on July 3, at least five power substations caught fire, according to local Telegram channels. There are also reports of a possible fire at another power facility.

As a reminder, the fuel shortage in Crimea has triggered a wave of mass layoffs and business closures.

Earlier, the Russian presidential administration sent special “recommendations” to state-run and pro-government media outlets regarding how exactly to report on the fuel shortage in the country.

The fuel crisis is also intensifying in Russia: gasoline is running out at gas stations and lines are growing longer.

Russia has allowed the use of lower-quality gasoline due to the fuel crisis.
