Solovyov proposed relocating residents of the occupied territories and the border regions
Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov proposed organizing a state-sponsored resettlement program for residents of Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine and border regions of the Russian Federation. He claimed that people allegedly need to be temporarily evacuated from areas near the front lines and resettled in other parts of Russia.
“There is a lot of talk right now about how the enemy, unfortunately, clearly understands what it is doing. Its goal is to destabilize the situation in other countries. That is precisely why it is striking civilian infrastructure; that is precisely why it attacked the oil and gas sector. That is precisely why they are targeting transportation infrastructure.
It’s clear that as winter approaches, attacks on the energy sector will begin. But this is obvious—so we need to take preventive measures right now. “I would like to see this issue addressed not only at the highest levels, since Putin is constantly involved in these matters,” Solovyov notes.
“We’re talking, by the way, about a number of people that isn’t exactly small. We’re talking about 200,000–400,000 people living in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kursk, and Bryansk regions.
They are effectively living on the front lines. What’s stopping us from evacuating these people, giving them the chance to relocate and live a normal life in a new place? The Far East, the Urals, the Volga region—we can distribute them throughout the country.
But we don’t abandon our own people. Once the front line recedes, we’ll rebuild everything, and people will return to their homes. But right now, we’re turning our backs on our workers.
We see how people are living under the most difficult conditions. That’s why, in my opinion, we need a government resettlement program for our people—even if only temporarily.
Not to temporary shelters, but to normal living conditions. Especially since we currently have so many new buildings that, unfortunately, for various reasons, cannot be occupied. What’s stopping the government from buying up housing there and providing it to people?
And people will have jobs. Most importantly, this will dramatically boost morale,” Solovyov shared his thoughts.
