The Russians attacked an evacuation robot using civilian FPV drones

Russian forces attacked a ground-based robotic complex (GRC) with FPV drones as it was evacuating civilians from a danger zone, despite the red crosses marked on it. As a result of the operation, an elderly couple was rescued.

Artem, the head of unmanned systems for the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, reported this on Army TV. According to him, while carrying out a combat mission, soldiers from the 1st Assault Battalion discovered an elderly couple in one of the houses. The woman had already been wounded, and the settlement had been under constant artillery fire for a long time.

“Our soldier carried the elderly woman out in his arms, while her husband got into the ground-based robotic complex on his own. They were then evacuated to a safer location,” the soldier said.

An unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) marked with red crosses was used for the evacuation—the markings were applied to both the robot itself and its trailer. Despite this, Russian forces attempted several times to strike the vehicle with FPV drones.

According to Artem, most of the enemy drones were shot down by interceptor drones, but one FPV drone still managed to damage the robotic complex.

After that, a neighboring K-2 unit joined the operation, providing a replacement RCS and a crew. While the civilians were inside the trailer of the damaged complex, drones delivered water and necessary medical supplies to them.

The evacuation was successfully completed. The injured were handed over to medics, who provided them with first aid. The couple is currently in a safe location, and their lives are not in danger.
