The Special Operations Forces have established air superiority over a key route to Crimea

Drone operators from the 3rd Separate Regiment of the Special Operations Forces named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave have established aerial surveillance over a section of the strategic route from Melitopol — Chongar, which Russian troops actively use to supply their forces in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

According to military sources, the regiment’s drones are striking enemy equipment and disrupting logistics routes in this area.

As a result of these attacks, it has already been possible to disrupt the supply of Russian troops, as well as the transport of fuel to the Crimean Peninsula.

The unit emphasized that the operation is ongoing and will continue.

The Melitopol–Chongar highway is one of the key land routes for supplying the Russian forces in occupied Crimea. The enemy uses it to transport military equipment, ammunition, fuel, and other resources.

Establishing air control over this area significantly limits the Russian army’s ability to move equipment and supplies to the peninsula.

The Special Operations Forces note that destroying logistics routes remains one of the Ukrainian military’s top priorities. Striking transport infrastructure and equipment reduces the combat capabilities of the occupying forces and creates additional difficulties for supplying their units in the southern sector.

Air control over the Melitopol–Chongar route was another step in weakening the logistical capabilities of Russian troops in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

This was reported by the unit itself.

In May 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a series of strikes against key elements of Russian military infrastructure as part of the “middle strike” campaign. Logistical routes in the Luhansk region and toward Crimea, as well as the occupiers’ warehouses, headquarters, and air defense systems, came under fire, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Russian forces attacked three districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Russia attacked Kharkiv and the surrounding region overnight; there are casualties.
