Satellite images indicate the complete destruction of the Russian corvette Boyky
Satellite images of the dry dock in Kronstadt show critical damage to the Russian Project 20380 missile corvette *Boyky*. According to available data, the ship has lost its superstructure, and its hull has suffered significant deformation. Analysts believe that repairing the vessel is technically impossible, which means the effective loss of yet another combat unit of the Russian Navy.
The published images show hull deformation in the stern area, where the exhaust systems are located. The analyst notes that this indicates the impact of extremely high temperatures that spread from the ship’s internal compartments. The exhaust ducts were likely damaged as well.
Under the influence of the fire, the radar mast and parts of the deck collapsed into the hull. The mast houses the "Furke-2" general-purpose radar and the "Monument-A" missile targeting radar, communication equipment, navigation lights, and components of the "friend-or-foe" identification system.
Numerous traces of charring along the stern superstructure and in the area of the helicopter deck also indicate that the interior compartments were burned out. According to an analyst’s assessment, the extent and nature of the damage rule out the possibility of repair, reports MT Anderson.
