Tusk said an attack on a border crossing with Ukraine had been prevented

Polish and Ukrainian intelligence agencies thwarted a threat to one of the checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border overnight. This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

According to him, the Polish side received information about a possible attack thanks to cooperation between the two countries’ intelligence agencies. Tusk did not specify which border crossing was involved or what exactly the perpetrators were planning.

The Polish prime minister emphasized that securing the border with Belarus and Russia, as well as the border crossing points on the Ukrainian side, is not only Warsaw’s responsibility but also a shared responsibility of the European Union.

Tusk also reported that he had received a detailed briefing from the CIA director regarding possible developments in the coming months. He called on Poland and other European countries to prepare for various scenarios, including potential provocations on the EU’s eastern flank.

According to the Polish prime minister, Russia has already engaged in provocations at border crossings in other countries, particularly on the border with Moldova. He also warned of the risk of internal sabotage and called on European states to work together to strengthen security.
