Magura's brigade debunked a Russian disinformation claim about the capture of the village of Maryine in the Sumy region
The village of Maryine in the Sumy region is under the full control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and the latest claim by the Russian Ministry of Defense that it has been captured is false.
According to the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura,” Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions and carry out combat missions in the area around the village.
According to the 8th Airborne Corps, this is already the second attempt by Russian propaganda to “capture” Maryine—the enemy first made a similar claim in May 2025. In total, since the beginning of 2026, Russian sources have falsely claimed to have “captured” settlements in this area of responsibility 12 times.
