A Russian strike has left 40,000 families without power in Chernihiv
As a result of yet another targeted strike by Russian occupation forces on critical infrastructure in the Chernihiv region on May 31, serious power supply issues arose. The enemy attack on a local energy facility led to an immediate power outage affecting approximately 40,000 residential and industrial customers directly in the city of Chernihiv itself.
This was reported by the press service of JSC “Chernihivoblenergo” in an official emergency statement on its Telegram channel.
The large-scale power outage affected a significant part of the regional center, creating additional challenges for the functioning of the city’s infrastructure and social facilities. Immediately after the security situation stabilized, emergency repair crews from the power company were dispatched to the scene. Company specialists, together with emergency services, promptly began addressing the aftermath of the shelling, inspecting damaged high-voltage equipment, and restoring power to consumers via backup power supply circuits. Work to restore stable power supply as quickly as possible is continuing at full speed.
On the night of May 31, Russian occupation forces carried out a targeted attack using an FPV drone on a patrol police vehicle in Kherson.
Russia attacked the Donetsk region, killing one person.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 911 strikes on 40 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers used aircraft, artillery, and hundreds of drones, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure.
