A woman was detained in Dnipro for helping Russia prepare missile and drone strikes

The Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a woman in Dnipro whom investigators suspect of assisting Russian intelligence agencies in preparing missile and drone strikes on the city.

According to the case file, a Russian handler instructed the suspect to gather information about administrative buildings of government agencies in central Dnipro.

She also, according to investigators, passed on information about the locations and consequences of previous shelling, which could have been used to prepare new attacks.

Investigators determined that the woman walked the streets of Dnipro, secretly photographing potential targets with her cell phone and sending the collected data to the Russian handler.

According to the SBU, she made contact with a representative of the Russian special services through Telegram channels that offered quick money.

To maintain secrecy, as law enforcement officials note, the suspect communicated with her handler via an anonymous chat and deleted the messages after each communication session.

Counterintelligence officers documented her activities and detained her at her place of residence. During a search, law enforcement officers seized a cell phone which, according to the investigation, contained evidence of the transfer of information to the Russian side.

SBU investigators informed the detainee that she is suspected of violating Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—the unauthorized dissemination of information regarding the movement, deployment, or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations under martial law.

The court ordered the woman to be held in pretrial detention without the right to bail. If found guilty, she could face up to 12 years in prison.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Law enforcement officials are also examining the possibility of additionally charging the suspect under the article on treason committed under martial law.

However, the final legal assessment of the woman’s actions must be made by the court.

This was reported by the SBU.

Earlier, in the Kyiv region, the SBU foiled a contract killing of a well-known public figure, which, according to the investigation, was organized by the Russian special services. A 19-year-old resident of Mykolaiv was detained while preparing for the crime.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a local resident suspected of collaborating with the FSB and coordinating Russian missile and drone attacks on fuel, energy, and logistics infrastructure. During his arrest, two hunting knives were seized from the man, which, according to the investigation, he carried with him to potentially resist law enforcement officers.

Earlier, the SBU exposed and detained a Russian agent in Kharkiv who was helping the enemy direct strikes against Defense Forces facilities. The detainee was accused of coordinating Russian attacks on military facilities in the city.

As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.

Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
