Russia has set up a drone launch site near the Ukrainian border to launch Geranium missiles – The Telegraph

In Russia’s Oryol Oblast, 150–200 km from the Ukrainian border, a new centralized launch site has been set up for “Geran”-type jet-powered strike drones targeting Kyiv and central regions of Ukraine.

Construction of the launch sites near the village of Tsymbulova began at the start of the year, and by August, 16 launchers, over a hundred drones in the open air, and solar panels for autonomous power supply had been identified there.

The creation of a single facility simplifies logistics for Russian forces and facilitates the organization of massive attacks using faster weapons, in particular the “Geran-5” drones, which can reach speeds of up to 600 km/h and carry a 90-kg warhead. Analysts emphasize that the emergence of such a base is part of a transformation in the enemy’s drone campaign aimed at complicating the work of air defense systems.

This is reported by The Telegraph.
