Zelenskyy is awaiting specific proposals from the U.S. regarding a ceasefire in the air

Ukraine wants to negotiate a ceasefire regarding attacks on the energy sector, food supply routes, and critical infrastructure—all of this should be on the table. But the U.S. must compel Russia to agree to such a deal and to abide by it not just until the elections.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to him, American partners have proposed a mutual ceasefire regarding attacks on critical infrastructure. The head of state noted that Russia is feeling the pressure from Ukraine’s precise strikes against its war economy, but has not yet demonstrated a genuine desire for peace. Ukraine emphasizes the need for a strong and lasting solution, not temporary agreements for the “elections,” but for the long term, and is currently awaiting specifics from its partners.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his statement.

On September 14, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine and the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—had allegedly agreed to cease strikes on each other’s energy infrastructure. In a post on Truth Social, he wrote that Ukraine had agreed not to strike Russian energy targets, and Russia had agreed to do the same.

Ukraine proposed that Russia agree to cease attacks on infrastructure, Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy warned Russia of a response to strikes on energy facilities.
