In Kyiv, a rescue worker who set a Ukrainian record was injured during a Russian attack

Rescue worker Volodymyr Skovorodka, who set a Ukrainian record several years ago by running more than 60 kilometers in full combat gear, was injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv.

“Among those wounded in the capital is rescue worker Volodymyr Skovorodka. He is known as the athlete who set a Ukrainian record. A few years ago, in memory of his fallen colleagues, Volodymyr ran more than 60 kilometers in full combat gear. Today, he was helping the victims when he himself came under fire again,” Ivan Vygivskyi reported.

Volodymyr Skovorodka was wounded while on duty following a Russian strike. The rescue worker was at the scene helping people who had been injured in the attack.

At the same time, Volodymyr Skovorodka is known not only as an employee of the State Emergency Service but also as an athlete. Several years ago, he set a Ukrainian record by running over 60 kilometers in full combat gear. The rescuer dedicated his run to the memory of his fallen colleagues.

Ivan Vygivskyi reported that emergency rescue operations and firefighting efforts are continuing in Kyiv and the Kyiv region at sites of Russian shelling.

According to the minister, Russian troops attacked 10 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv with missiles and drones overnight. Residential buildings, a shopping and entertainment center, administrative buildings, energy facilities, and utility structures were hit.

In particular, a child was killed in Vyshhorod, Kyiv Oblast.

In the morning, Russian troops attacked a supermarket in a suburb of the capital. The fire at the site has already been extinguished.

In Kyiv, one person was killed and another injured as a result of the morning shelling.

The necessary units are working at the sites of the Russian strikes. Police are documenting war crimes and accepting reports from citizens regarding damaged or destroyed property.

“At this time, the Russians continue to attack our cities. We urge citizens to remain in safe places during air raid alerts and when there is a threat of shelling,” emphasized Ivan Vyhivskyi.

Russian troops attacked an agricultural enterprise in Borzna, Chernihiv Oblast. The strike damaged a grain silo and destroyed 200 metric tons of rapeseed.

As a reminder, the Russian army launched a drone strike on the Kyiv district of Kharkiv. 

In the Pecherskyi district of the capital, debris from the drone fell into the yard of a private building. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this.

A drone strike in the Kyiv region caused a fire in several buildings; two people were rescued.

As a reminder, debris from a Russian drone caused a fire in a five-story building in Kyiv.

Following Russia’s nighttime attack on Kyiv, an educational institution was hit.
