The Kremlin called Zelenskyy's statement about the possible participation of 30,000 North Korean troops in the war a "fake"
Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declined to confirm or deny reports that Russia may be bringing in another 30,000 troops from North Korea to fight in the war against Ukraine.
According to Russian media reports, during a briefing, Peskov was asked to comment on a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy alleging that Moscow is preparing to send an additional North Korean contingent to participate in combat operations.
The Kremlin spokesman stated that he did not consider it necessary to comment on these remarks.
“I do not consider it necessary to comment on them. It is not up to Zelenskyy to speak about our plans,” Peskov said.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Russia is laying the groundwork for expanded mobilization and may draw additional forces from North Korea into the war. According to him, Moscow expects to receive about 30,000 North Korean troops, in particular to reinforce its units.
Officials in Orenburg stated that they were unable to hire street cleaners from North Korea.
